Client Appreciation Gifts: How to Choose Gifts Clients Remember
What makes a client gift feel considered rather than generic — and how to plan one around the moments that matter to the relationship.

A client gift is a small piece of your brand that sits on someone else's desk. Chosen well, it says the relationship matters and keeps your name in front of the people who decide whether to work with you again. Chosen badly, it says someone ticked a box. The difference is rarely the budget — it's how well the gift fits the person and how it arrives.
Pick things that get used at work
The best client gifts earn a place in a working day. Items that consistently do:
- Executive gift sets: a leather diary, flask, pen and card holder in one presentation box, for key accounts and senior decision-makers.
- Drinkware: a temperature display flask or a ceramic mug with a cork base is used daily and carries a logo well.
- Desk and tech accessories: a bamboo wireless charger or a mobile stand with a pen holder suits clients who work at a desk.
- Card holders: a metal or RFID-blocking card holder is compact, premium and practical for people who meet clients of their own.
Match the gift to the account
One gift for everyone rarely works. Split your list into two or three tiers — for example strategic accounts, the wider client and partner list, and one-off project contacts — and choose a gift for each. It keeps the budget in check and makes the top tier feel genuinely considered.
Keep the branding consistent across tiers, so every box is recognisably from you even when the contents differ.
Brand it with restraint
A client gift should flatter the recipient, not advertise at them. A small laser-engraved logo on a pen, flask or card holder looks refined; a large full-colour print looks like conference merchandise. Let the presentation box and the card carry your colours.
Include a short handwritten or printed note from the relationship owner. A line of thanks for the work done together reads far better than a generic greeting.
Time it around the relationship
Gifts land best when they mark something: a contract signed, a project delivered, a renewal, a work anniversary with the account. Tying the gift to a moment makes it personal and spreads your gifting across the year instead of crowding it into one week.
Work backwards from the date you want it to arrive:
- Finalise the list and tiers, and share your logo and product choices — mockups follow within 24 hours.
- Approve the mockups and confirm quantities (the minimum is 50 units per product).
- Allow 7–10 days for production and delivery, or ask about the 5-day express option for a tight date.
- Leave time to hand over or courier each gift individually.
Budget and GST
Prices on our website are indicative per unit and exclude branding and GST. When comparing quotes, compare like for like: the same product, branding method, packaging and delivery. Every order is invoiced with GST, so check with your finance team early how client gifts should be booked.
Follow through
A short call or message once the gift arrives turns it into a conversation. Afterwards, note what worked — which gifts clients mentioned, which tier needed more, and what ran late — so the next round is easier to plan.
