Why Eco-Friendly Corporate Gifts Are the Future of Business Gifting
Sustainability is not just a trend — it's what modern employees and clients expect. Here's how to go green with your gifting.

More companies now set sustainability goals, and their gifting is increasingly expected to reflect them. A plastic trinket wrapped in more plastic sends the opposite message. Eco-friendly gifting is less about a green label and more about choosing products people keep, made from materials that age well, and packed without waste.
What makes a gift genuinely eco-friendly
Material matters, but usefulness matters more. A bamboo pen that is used for a year does more good than a “green” gadget that is thrown away in a week. Before choosing a gift, ask three questions:
- Will the person receiving it use it regularly?
- Is it made from renewable, recycled or long-lasting materials?
- Can the packaging be recycled or reused?
Materials that work well
- Bamboo: a fast-growing, renewable material used for pens, notebook covers, keychains, flasks, wireless chargers and desk stands. It takes laser engraving cleanly, with a warm, natural finish.
- Cork: light, durable and pleasant to hold — used for diary covers and mug bases.
- Jute: a natural fibre for sturdy tote bags that replace single-use carry bags. Screen printing suits its texture.
- Recycled paper and kraft board: for notebook pages and plastic-free gift boxes.
- Stainless steel: not a natural material, but a steel bottle that replaces bottled water every day is one of the most practical eco gifts there is.
Don't forget the packaging
Packaging is where many eco kits fall short. Swap plastic wrap and foam for a recycled kraft box, a paper-pulp or card insert and a printed card. Skip individual plastic sleeves where the product doesn't need them.
Choose branding that doesn't add material. Laser engraving marks the surface itself rather than adding ink or stickers, which suits bamboo and cork particularly well.
Order in fewer, larger batches
Every separate dispatch adds cartons, filler and another courier trip. Where you can, combine onboarding, event and client-gifting requirements into fewer, larger orders, and ask for kits going to the same office to travel together rather than in individual outer cartons. It is lighter on resources and usually simpler to manage.
Avoid greenwashing
Be specific about what the gift is. “Bamboo notebook with recycled-paper pages” is honest and meaningful; vague claims about being “planet-friendly” invite scepticism, especially from employees who care about the subject. If you are unsure about a material's origin or certification, ask your supplier and describe only what you can confirm.
Putting together an eco kit
A balanced eco kit might include a bamboo notebook, a bamboo pen, a jute tote and a bamboo flask in a kraft box — useful at the desk, on the commute and at the market. It works for onboarding, client gifting and events, and fits green-themed occasions such as World Environment Day in June. Mention what each item is made of on the welcome card — one line helps people appreciate the choice and look after the gift.
As with any order, the minimum is 50 units per product, mockups are free within 24 hours, and standard delivery takes 7–10 days after approval. Start from our ready-made eco kit or pick individual pieces from the eco range below.
