5 Custom Branding Tips That Make Corporate Gifts Unforgettable

The difference between a gift that sits on a shelf and one that gets used daily — it's all in the branding details.

Two identical bottles can be received very differently. One carries a small, crisp logo and becomes someone's everyday bottle; the other is covered in a large print and never leaves the cupboard. Branding decides whether a gift feels like a present or like advertising. These five tips help yours land on the right side.

1. Match the method to the material

Every material takes branding differently, and the right method makes the logo look like part of the product:

  • Laser engraving: permanent, precise marks on metal, stainless steel, bamboo, wood, cork and PU leather — ideal for pens, flasks, keychains and card holders.
  • UV printing: full-colour logos on ceramic, plastic, steel and metal surfaces, useful when colour matters, as on mugs.
  • Screen printing: bold, durable prints on jute, fabric, polyester and card — the natural choice for tote bags, organisers and boxes.

Laser engraving shows the material rather than adding colour, so a multi-colour logo will appear in a single tone. Plan for that when you choose products for a colourful brand.

2. Go smaller than you think

A logo that fills the whole surface feels promotional. A modest mark placed where it naturally belongs — on a pen's clip or barrel, the lower corner of a diary cover, near the base of a flask — looks deliberate and premium. People are more willing to carry a gift in public when it doesn't shout.

3. Use a logo made for small sizes

Detailed logos with fine lines, gradients or small taglines lose clarity when engraved on a pen barrel or printed on a keychain. Use a simplified mark or monogram for small items, and save the full logo for larger surfaces such as a box lid or a tote bag.

Always share vector files (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) rather than screenshots or low-resolution images. Clean artwork is the single easiest way to get sharp results.

4. Brand the packaging, not just the product

The box is where you have room to be expressive. A printed or foil-finished lid, a ribbon in your brand colour or a printed welcome card carries your colours and message, so the products inside can stay subtle. It also makes the unboxing feel like one designed experience rather than a set of stamped items.

5. Always approve a mockup

Colours, sizes and placement look different on a real surface than on a screen. Review a mockup of every product before production, and picture it at actual size — a logo that looks bold on a monitor can be tiny on a pen barrel. At Jason Gifting, free digital mockups arrive within 24 hours, and nothing is produced until you approve them.

Bringing it together

Good branding is consistent rather than loud: the same mark, at the right size, in the right method, across every item in the kit. If you're unsure which approach suits a product, share your logo and product list. We'll recommend a method for each material and show you mockups before anything is made.
